CLUB HISTORY

The first 25 years of the Rotary Club of Strathfield (1971-1996) was compiled into a history by PP Maurie Moroney and produced as a written document. Some of us still have copies. Lesley Smallwood who did the design and layout of the original document has provided me with a series of PDF files that can be collated and used as an electronic record. Read about our Charter year and see a list of our Charter members

Last week you read about  Lew Wilson in 1979-80. The first year of the ANZAC day breakfast and also the first time the Club conducted debates

This week you can read about Brian Hennell's year in1980-81. The year that our District chartered its first Probus Club and it was in Strathfield with Director PP George Hallworth; Karen Catalano attended RYLA; and the Rotaract Club of Strathfield  was chartered and commenced under Director PP Bob Templeman

Please help if you can provide captions for the photographs. Does anyone have the original photographs?

FUN AT THE ALVAROS

Once again our visit to 'Johanna', Domenico and Johanna Alvaro’s home in Bowral, on Sunday was a great day out. A cool start at Strathfield Golf Club was followed by an even cooler morning tea at Mittagong. It was refreshing to breathe some clean country air. As usual, our arrival at Johanna was warmly welcomed by Domenico and Johanna, and their son Guiseppe, who manned the barbecue. More
