PRESIDENT TREVOR'S WEEKLY REPORT
Strathfield
Rotary Club President Trevor Duxbury produces a weekly column called
"Trev's Tidings"
" ...Jan
Clark, co-ordinator of the Expo at this year’s District Conference,
wants to remind us that all members, family and friends, even if not
attending the Conference at Penrith Panthers, are invited to have a look
at the exciting Public Expo being staged on Friday 23rd March from
1.00pm until 6.00pm. ENTRY IS FREE. The aim is to showcase to the public
all the aspects that Rotary has to offer both in service and recreation.
There will be a mini M.U.N.A on stage from 1.30-2.30pm with students
from Penrith Selective High School which promises to be entertaining."

DISTRICT CONFERENCE:
District Governor David
reports that
"...Countdown now is
just three weeks away and final numbers are dribbling in. Please keep up the
enthusiasm within the clubs and make your decisions to register. Don't
forget you can decide on when you are able to come. If you cannot fathom the
ONLINE registration process, or you would like to discuss a specialised
program, designed for you, please call me or Roger Winterburn. We can
accommodate most requests so please don't miss out."

is news on Speakers,

Newsletter; please click appropriately. Could club presidents,
College of Governors and all my Leadership Team please take this by the
throat this week and garner more responses. There are clubs (namely Holroyd,
Lower Blue and Padstow) who are making up the majority of registrations at
this stage and I know there are many more in the pipeline. Rotarians can be
advised that if they are having any trouble deciding whether to come or not,
they can easily pick and choose what suits them and they can contact me or
the conference chairman Roger Winterburn if you need help with the
registration process."

Rotary reaches 107 years
Rotary’s 107th anniversary was on 23 February
On
February 23, 1905, Paul Harris had dinner with his closest friend,
Chicago coal dealer Silvester Schiele. Afterwards they walked over the
river to Room 711 of the Unity Building where they met their host,
Gustavus Loehr, a mining engineer; and another friend, Hiram Shorey, a
merchant tailor. Harris proposed that they form a club.
Today, over 1.2 million members belong to 33,000 Rotary clubs in more
than 200 countries and geographical areas.
