Tonight is a very special night. The Police Officer of the Year Awards. We offer a big Strathfield Rotary welcome to all present.
Perhaps one of the busiest men in NSW would be Police commissioner Ken Moroney. We are honoured and grateful that he has made time to be here tonight. We hope that he will enjoy the evening as much as we enjoy having him here.
Thanks go to Vocational Service Director Paul Giammarco and the Police Awards Committee, Grahame True, Brian Johnson and Terry Rohan for organizing the awards night.

Last week Brian and Kevin provided an insight into their working lives, which was very well received and made the evening one of really good fellowship. The meeting had that certain buzz that comes with a relaxed friendly atmosphere and good speakers.
While not forgetting our back page boys who entertain us each week, Warren Abbott got the gold star for a joke that no one had heard before!
The thought of the week is for PP Brian Driver who is about to embark on a 400k walk across Spain. I am sure we all wish him well.
