Our talk last week on RAWCS from
Warren Bond reinforced the breadth of the programme and made us all
more aware of what a great Rotary initiative this is.
The District conference at Port
Macquarie was an outstanding success. I do feel that DG Bill Little
lifted the bar somewhat and it will be a hard act to follow. The
Cabramatta Club supported by Liverpool West did a very good job.
Port Macquarie proved to be an
excellent venue, the weather was perfect, the speakers were good and
the Saturday night “Pirates Night’ was enjoyed by all. Incidentally
Port Macquarie is the furthest our District has traveled to a
Conference, but still attracted over 500 Rotarians.
007 Harley and Bert Gold finger
Houston supported by Pussy Galore put on a little gem of a
presentation in announcing next years conference at Newcastle. I know
that all Strathfield Rotarians will give 100% support to DG Elect
Harley and conference chairman Bert Houston in making Newcastle 2007 a
year to remember.
In the April edition of the DGs
Newsletter we were placed 21st in the District for attendance in
February, the latest figures available. Nothing to get excited about
but an improvement on previous results. I hope that we can continue
to climb the ladder.
