Angharad Candlin or Harry as she likes to be known is a foster care adoption agent. Her address to the Club last week was backed up by Les and Catherine Millgate who told us of some pressing needs that the service would love to have, practical furnishings etc that would make a big difference to mothers, babies and carers. Perhaps the talk was a little ho hum to some. To others it was a call to arms and action that could make a difference in the local community.
I thank Rod McDougall for attending the Presidents meeting at the Panthers last Friday. I feel sure that Rod carried the flag for Strathfield very well and the Club had excellent representation.
Board meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month. If any Rotarian has any suggestions or concerns on any subject Secretary Roger will be please to include them in the agenda. While we are on the subject, as I announced last week, I will be attending a series of meetings at the Town Hall at which community issues may be raised with the Mayor/Deputy Mayor and General Manager. Feedback would be welcome.
Many thanks are due to many people for a successful Trivia night last Friday. No names, and yes perhaps some did more than others, but surely a great team effort. No doubt Treasurer Bob will report tonight on the financial outcome. Socially a great all round success. Many thanks are due ……
