So here we are. The lucky last
Chit Chat, small talk or gossip according to the Oxford dictionary.
I don’t suppose the last 46 have been all that profound (Oxford
dictionary: Profound: - demanding much thought, of great insight or
knowledge). While I may plead not guilty to profundity I do hope
that my scribblings were not too boring.
Debbie Irwin, a teacher from
Strathfield Girls High School, gave us some food for thought last
week in her address on Literature extension and how Rotary can
help. We sometimes look into the distance when a worthwhile
programme is right on our doorstep. Of note too was the confidence
in public speaking by the student that Debbie had asked along.
I suspect that the Census is
not something that we give a lot of thought to before we start to
fill in the form. Tonight our own Allan Petersen is going to
explain all the whys and wherefores and dispel all the mysteries of
the 2006 census.
As a bonus tonight Grahame True
will bring us up to date in what is new is the electricity
business.
We now look forward to a great
year ahead with Harley as DG and of course Rod as President of out
Club.
See you all at the Waterview
Convention Centre on Sunday.

going to spend the rest of my life there.” C
