I think that last week’s Open
Night and Membership Development Night was a first for our Club. Our
membership committee is Joe Saad, Bert Houston and Ray Wilson and I
give thanks and 10/10 for their efforts. It was a very good
initiative. Perhaps it could have been better supported.
Nevertheless we are hopeful of some results and at least we are doing
something.
We had one or two little concerns
about Conference payments during the week but everything is sorted out
and it is great to see Ted Ingall back on the job and sparking on all
cylinders. Bob Templeman is also back on the job. Bob has an
interesting story to tell. Perhaps we can get him to share it with
us.
P.E.T.S at Meriden ran with great
efficiency last Sunday thanks to a good response to Rogers’ roster and
of course George and Sam Helous’ catering expertise which produced a
top quality lunch.
We were well represented at
Central Blue Mountains Rotary Golf Day by Bob Templeman, Nial King,
Peter Foss and Ray Wilson last Friday. While not bringing back the
Gold Cup I am assured that the Strathfield Team played great golf and
had a very enjoyable day.
