On our first regular meeting at the
Golf Club may I wish all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. I am
sure that all our resolutions are holding firm!
Though it
seems a long way past, our Christmas party was, I think, enjoyed by
all. Many thanks to Connie Galletta for organizing such an enjoyable
night. Santa Claus’s appearance brought smiles to everyone faces and he
was quite generous in handing out gifts for all. Santa had quite a few
gifts left over and these were donated to Claffy House, a worthy cause
and we thank the Lanzafame family or their generosity.
The banquet at Botoli’s was a very
good, relaxed, friendly, social night. Thank you Eric.
We were saddened to hear the news
of Jean Thurgar’s passing. Angelo is giving a report elsewhere but I
did want to record Catherine and my own deepest sympathy to Ron an the
family. Flowers have been sent on behalf of the Club. Jean will be
greatly missed.
To meet the copy deadline I am
obliged to have this in before our big Bowls ‘n’ BBQ night. Rod
McDougal has put in a big effort to make this a successful night and
without any bias I am sure that it will be.
So we are off and running in 2006
and what a great year it will be.
