President George's

Wednesday 29 March 2006

We had a glimpse into the world of the modern day architect last week when Stephen Taylor gave his job talk.  More and more regulations, some good, some with a question mark after them and some that would really make you wonder.  Still thank you Steve for an interesting talk.

The Club Assembly which followed proved to be a worth while exercise with some positive suggestions.  We did not have time to discuss them at the Board meeting but Secretary Roger has an accurate record and we will certainly give them our best attention and report back to the Club.

As we know ‘Cyclone Larry’ has caused great devastation in the north.  DG Bill Little has asked all our District Clubs to offer financial help to the Rotary Appeal.  Assistant DG Peter Davidson has suggested an amount of $500 from Strathfield, Burwood and Concord and your Board (and Treasurer Bob!) have agreed to forward this amount.

I have just received the sad news of Veronica MacDonald passing.  Veronica has been a very good friend of the Rotary Club for quite some time in allowing the BBQ trailer to be stored in her garage.

We have sent flowers on behalf of the Club and passed on a message of sympathy to the family from the members of our Club.

Until next week

Enjoy Rotary,

                         President George
