Tonight we welcome the GSE
team to Thailand. We congratulate them on being chosen to
represent their profession in a Rotary program that spreads so
much good will around the world. We look forward to hearing their
story, one that I am sure will be remembered by all for a very
long time.
Last weeks talk on remedial
work and future development of the Rhodes Peninsular was
impressive in its scale and was of great interest to all present,
but especially to Rotarians who have been conversant with the area
for many years. What a change! The price of $1 for the land
seemed to be a bargain of all time, until the cost of soil
remediation and general clean up was taken into account. A
massive job but one that will surely be of benefit to all.
The Salvation Army Red Shield
Appeal last Sunday was very successful in the Strathfield
Municipality. I think a total of 19 Rotarians and or partners
took part. Your board last week agreed to donate $1,000.00 to
kick start the Appeal. The money from the Appeal all goes to the
Salvos Social Welfare Program.
As of Monday morning the
total amount collected was approaching the target of $20,000.00,
which is a very good result.
