Last week we had
our Pride of Workmanship Awards night. Regrettably
President Peter could not be present and it fell to PE
Trevor Duxbury to introduce the Master of Ceremonies PP
Terry Rohan.
PP Doug Potter gave a short talk on the awards concept prior to
the Awardees being introduced. Doug reminded us that the theme of
the Awards was “do it once – do it well”. He stated that the primary
aims were to:
-Encourage pride of
workmanship
-Provide employers
with an opportunity to recognize employee’s efforts
-To promote the
relationship between employer and employee.
The awardees were then introduced by PP Graeme True, PP Peter
Foss and PP Peter Manenti. The Awardees were:

1. Karinne Bedingfield from
Meriden School. Peter Foss advised us that Karinne was a member
of the best profession- teaching. Karinne was recognized for her
excellent work at Meriden including her work on the Chalmer’s
Road School mural.

2. Joanne Gianotto from
Strathfield SES. Joanne makes a valuable contribution to the
work of the SES in the community.

3. George Habkouk from the
Australian Catholic University. George works in security and was
nominated by Paul White.

4. Anthony Houben from
Strathfield SES. Anthony has been with the SES for ten years and
has progressed to a senior position.

5. Pierre Hoyek from Silver
Service Taxis. Pierre provides a high level of service and was
nominated by the Taylor family.

6. Kitt Kerisanguna from Meals on
Wheels. Kitt frequently goes beyond what is normally expected to
meet the needs of the service.

7. Julian Richards from
Strathfield SES. Julian is an enthusiastic volunteer and is now
a Deputy Team Leader.

8. Dianne See from TAFE-NSW.
Dianne works at OTEN and has been involved in leadership
programs.

9. Marcia Tsirakidis from
Undercliffe Public School. Marcia is a teacher and is also
Assistant Principal. Marcia was nominated by Pat Giamarco.

10.Richard Webb from Bendigo Bank-
Homebush. Richard is a diligent worker and has contributed to a
dramatic growth in the branch’s business.
We were honoured to have Nancy Sherry
present and she made a short address prior to presenting the Ray
Sherry Award to Karinne Bedingfield. Karinne gave a short acceptance
speech prior to the evening being concluded by PP Doug Potter.
