Kev's Conveyances

Wednesday 16June 2010

It certainly has been a year that has passed rapidly for me; as I sit down to write my final conveyance before our Changeover Meeting on Friday 25th June.

I must say that I have had an enjoyable year and the experience has been rewarding in many ways. I would encourage any member, who has not been or considered the role of President, to re-consider and think about their own and our club’s future and make a commitment to serve as President, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.

On the topic of commitment, I would like to encourage members to support President Elect Peter and his Board, as they allocate members to the various committees for next year. There are some roles that require the performance of tasks throughout the year, but there are many that only require a short span of your time, so please consider this and do not be afraid to be involved with a number of committees, allowing everybody to enjoy and share our Rotary experiences.President Kevin Freund and our guest speaker Gai Grayson

In conclusion, as we come to the end of the Rotary year, it is also the end of the financial year, when you might be considering reducing your personal or business tax obligations.  I would like all members to consider a donation to our club’s nominated charity this year, LifeHouse at RPA, The Chris O’Brien Cancer Centre. By making a donation directly, on the forms we have available, your donation is fully tax deductible, but also The Rotary Club of Strathfield will receive recognition.

Our guest speaker last week, Gai Grayson, provided us with an inspiring personal story, sharing her journey since being diagnosed with breast cancer and her and positive approach to life, resulting from her experience.

Tonight, we have the opportunity to listen and gain information about a couple of our very own members.

Cheers,

President Kevin
