There is a lot of excitement and anticipation throughout the district this week leading into the District Conference being held at Forster over this weekend.

We wish District Governor Paul Reid, Julia and all the members of the Holroyd Club a successful and enjoyable event.

For those members not attending the conference who would like to see the presentation from the Group Study Exchange Team from District 7820,Eastern Canada, your last opportunity will be at the joint Burwood/Concord meeting on Monday at Concord Golf Club, 5.45 - 6.00pm

Last week’s meeting was a busy one again with a presentation of a cheque to Marlene Dowbiggin, the Relieving Principal of Chalmers Road School, for funding to assist with maintenance and running costs of the school bus. The amount of $3,100.00 was raised at our Trivia Night in November last year.

We were then given an informative presentation of the 2010 RLYA Camp by our club’s nominees, Jessica Rossiter, Santino Bol Wek, Kristyna Wowk and Clare Mullen.

The meeting concluded with a travelogue by Paolo Giammarco from his recent tour through France and Italy.

Ted Ingall was the lucky first recipient of the $100.00 Gift Voucher, in our weekly raffle, generously donated by Allan Fahd of Allan Tres Menswear, who are now located at 118 Longueville Road, Lane Cove. We thank Allan for his generosity and Joe Saad for organising it and for it to be repeated once each month for the next few months.
