The President's Column
Last week: Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, our guest speaker Peter Wilson from District 9690 had to reluctantly cancel. Peter has been rescheduled for 20 October – and will talk to us about the Rotary Emergency Service Recognition Awards concept.
However, it was an opportunity to have a great fellowship night (and I think we ran over time!).
PP Roger Vince gave a wonderful Job Talk about his experiences in the meat industry – which resulted in numerous questions. It was also a chance for some humorous reminiscences about the Foss/Vince family BBQ’s (guess who supplied the meat?)
This week: Our guest speaker this week is Treska Roden, from the Sydney College of Etiquette, who will talk to us about Etiquette in Business. Treska regularly talks to Rotary and community groups – particularly teenagers – regarding life style etiquette.

Pakistan Relief: Also at last weeks meeting it was agreed that Strathfield Rotary would donate $1,000 towards the $4,000 needed to send a container of food and clothing to Pakistan. The other $3,000 was donated jointly by Burwood, Breakfast Point, Padstow and Revesby Wirrimbirra clubs.
Our cheque has already been drawn and the relief agency Overseas Disaster Resources advise that the container will be leave Australia this week.
Rotarians Anuradha & Umesh Kamkolkars and Naveed Chaudhry also generously donated towards the project on the evening.
