Those Rotarians who were unable to attend last weeks meeting missed an excellent presentation by Christine Yeates from NSW State Archives. Her topic “Convict Records” was of great interest to Rotarians and Guests/partners in attendance.
On Thursday morning I, along with three other Rotarians from Strathfield, attended the first meeting of the year for the provisional Rotary Club of Breakfast Point.There were seventeen prospective members in attendance, led by President Elect Brian Lawrenson. DG Jennifer Scott was Guest Speaker, informing attendees of the work Rotary does in our communities and worldwide. Peter Foss acted as Sgt ot Arms, handling the job in his usual persuasive way.
It is expected that that provisional Club will very soon reach their minimum membership number to enable it to be Chartered.
For your diaries the Provisional Rotary Club of Breakfast Point is holding a bbq lunch in the main oval area at Breakfast Point on Sunday 24 February 11:30 for 12 noon. It will be “bring your own meat and drinks”, with salads and the like supplied. The cost is $10.00 per person, Members of our club are invited to attend to meet the new members and enjoy an afternoon of fellowship.
