Grahame True with Penny

President 2008-9

Rotary Club of Strathfield

 President Electric's Lines

Wednesday 8 April 2009

Last week Sister Josephine presented an overview of the good work of St Marys’ House at Campsie and its committed staff. In so many suburbs in Sydney there are wonderful organisations such as this helping families in need and we thank them for that.

On Wednesday Secretary Allan circulated nomination forms for this years ‘Service Above Self Award’ please give this your attention and return them to Allan no later than Wednesday 28th April.

The Bowel Scan Project is underway and I would like to thank Niall and his team for organising and getting to the bottom of this!

This Wednesday the club is on route to Elizabeth Farm and I am sure we will have a wonderful history lesson – being Australia’s oldest European building, was the home of John and Elizabeth Macarthur and the birth place of the Australian wool industry.

The following week we are off to OTEN, leaving the nest again.

I would like to thank David Croft for volunteering again this year in organising the ANZAC Day breakfast at the picturesque Cape Cabarita.

The club membership information night organised by Ray Wilson and his team is fast approaching and it would be excellent to have a strong turn out of members to support the club with enthusiasm.

Our bush dance with the Sydney Cove Bush Band is on the 9th May – whilst this is not a big fund raiser but a ‘fun’ raiser, the price has been kept to a minimum to encourage all members and friends to come.

How amazing it is to be able to turn on the computer, log onto our E-News, click on a photo and what pops up is a collage set to music of our recent sojourns – thankyou Raymond.

Next week the President will be missing in action, enjoying Noosa and I apologise in advance that there will be no electric lines – but I will be back for Wednesday’s meeting. Aloha!

And remember:  Fun and fellowship in Rotary

President Grahame
