 President Electric's Lines

Wednesday 24 September 2008

I felt last weeks speaker, Craig Davis, exuded enthusiasm in his approach to his sport, his work, his charity and his life. The meeting last week had a real feel of fellowship and it made me happy to be president.

Thursday night was the get together at the Golden Coronet Restaurant. We had 31 foodies all chop sticking, chomping and chatting. Our restaurateur John, generously donated dinner for two as a raffle prize, a big thankyou to him and also to my wholesaler Action Electrical for a second prize donation. Whilst the night was not a fund raiser, with a raffle and a little profit on the meal we raised $270 to go towards our charities. Thanks Steve for the organisation.

I must mention our bike riders. I hope you have all put in early registrations for the charity bike ride on November 2nd, Sydney to the Gong – a Rotarian as a winner would be good!!

Strathfield Spring Fair is on this Sunday 28th – don’t forget to put your name down with Niall to help with the BBQ.

My apologies this week for “short” circuiting my electric lines. Penny and I had cultural pursuits in Melbourne - NO we were not at the AFL.

Apologies to Doug for not attending the Shute Shield on Saturday, well done Sydney Uni. A great idea Doug for happy Rotarians “playing together”.

Thanks go to Rod for stepping in for Angelo who is also on a trip to Melbourne for a cultural experience.

Remember:  Fun and fellowship in Rotary
