Club Assembly


Members of the new Board addressed the meeting.

President Elect- Kevin Freund
Will be assisting the President and other Directors across all portfolios so that he can become familiar with everything that happens in the Club.

Club Service- Trevor Duxbury
Requested that people making announcements at meetings hand a short note setting out any relevant details to Ian Johnson so that they may be accuratelyrecorded in the Bulletin. Circulation of the Membership List will be limited to members. Neil Kennan and Paul White are arranging guest speakers.Job talks not to be limited to new members. Ray McCluskie and Rod McDougall would welcome any input regarding the Club’s web site.

Community Service- Niall King
Regular projects such as the Trivia Night to continue. Other projects are awaiting approval of the Board. Volunteers needed for the barbecue as Shirley is unable to do this year.

Vocational Service- Peter Smith
Police Officer of the Year Award to be held on 27 August 2008.Pride of Workmanship Awards to be held on 22 October 2008. Also considering vocational talks, Honeywell Program and
Siemens Science Experience.

International Service- Janelle Watson
Matching Grants- looking at Tradewinds project in East Timor which will provide farmers with seedlings to grow their own food and to sell any surplus for income. A water pump, sprinkler system and delivery vehicle are required. RAWCS- contributions to be made to Rotarians Against Malaria and to Ranfurly Library Service. GSE STEP YEP: GSE team coming from Brazil. Continuing dialogue re short term exchange program. Also looking at further involvement in the youth exchange program. Other programs to be supported include Shelter Boxes, Polio Plus and the Centurion Program.

Youth Services- Peter Van der Sleesen
To continue our involvement in the numerous Rotary youth programs including RYLA, RYPEN and MUNA. Youth Achievement Awards in conjunction with Strathfield Council. To continue our involvement with the Literature Extension program. To continue our support for INTERACT and RYDA.

Treasurer- Charles Pitt
Dues fixed at $200-00 for six months.
