Hello fellows
Again,
thanks to President Elect, Keith Byrn for sitting in and running the meeting
for me last week.
Thanks
also to Denise Taylor for assisting with the distribution of flyers for our
“Bike the Park” fundraiser on 2 May. Denise provided transport for Brian
Johnson and Stephen Taylor to Morisset on Sunday morning so they could
participate in the “Loop the Lake” event organised by the Rotary Club of
Warners Bay. Denise then drove on to Warners Bay to distribute the flyers as
riders finished the ride. Whilst we are talking about things associated with
bike riding, Stephen achieved a personal best for “Loop the Lake” by
reducing his time by 30 minutes over the previous year and congratulations
to Brian who has upgraded and purchased a new road bike which he enjoyed
riding on Sunday.
At the
Board meeting last week, Directors resolved to contribute $1,250 to the
Trish Foundation This amount when included with the amount presented to
Carol Langsford last week will bring the total amount raised for the Trish
Foundation this year to $20,000.
The
Board has considered some suggested Rotary centenary projects. Keith Byrn,
Brian Johnson, Grahame True and I will meet on Thursday night to discuss
them further and determine a project.
On the
agenda at the District Conference this weekend is the Resolutions session.
Our club is allowed two delegates to vote. I will attend this session
together with Roger Vince and Stephen Taylor. as representatives of our
Club. There are 3 resolutions which have been proposed:
1. Acceptance of District Accounts for 2002/2003.
2. Sponsoring students for the Youth Exchange Program
3. Sub-committee bank accounts.
I would
like to obtain from members tonight, an indication on which way members
would like the club delegates to vote.
Have
a good week.
Keith
