President's Pieces

4 August 2004

Greetings Fellows,

Well here it is August and our Rotary year is well underway.

Last weeks guest speaker, Sandy Harrison did hold everyone’s attention with her talk on aged care. Another excellent speaker, thank you to Shirley for her introduction to Sandy.

We are still having a problem with members not apologizing when unable to attend regular meetings. If for any reason you cannot attend a meeting we ask you to do the right thing and contact Eric Khu in the proper time. We realize that emergencies crop up from time to time, however there are still too many repeat offenders. The easy fix is to make an effort to attend or apologise correctly.

Next week we will again be holding our “Police Officer of the year Awards” function.  We look forward to another successful evening, something that our Club excels in achieving. Special thanks go to Brian Johnson & Graham True for all their input and organisation. This is a partner’s night and we would like to see a strong attendance to support the recipients.

Please remember to contact Ted Ingall for all queries regarding the District Conference in Canberra next March. We would like to finalise accommodation arrangements before Christmas as bookings will be essential.

As mentioned before we are still in need of storage space for our Rotary equipment. If anyone has a solution please contact me as soon as possible.

Next Friday evening I will be attending my first Presidents meeting for this year at Penrith Panthers. I am flattered that DG Lloyd has asked me to chair our first meeting and I will report to you next week on the outcome of discussions at the meeting,

Until then, LET’S CELEBRATE ROTARY.

“MORE NEXT WEEK”

President Keith
