Greetings Fellows,
Another busy week with a
President’s meeting on Friday evening at Penrith Panthers.
The meeting was based on an
“open forum” with all of the Presidents being able to have a say during the
meeting.
Many great ideas came out of
this meeting and as time goes on I will be introducing some of those ideas
to our Club.
I will have for distribution
on Wednesday evening a DG’s newsletter that you will find full to the brim
with information and important dates.
I will also have for sale
Christmas cards. All of the profit from these cards will go to the
Australian Rotary Health Research Fund and at $10 for each pack of 10 cards
they are good value.
This Wednesday evening will
see our Rotary “Police Officer of the Year Awards”. Brian Johnson, Graham
True & Connie Galletta have worked together to make this night a success.
Special guest for the evening
will be Police Commissioner, Ken Moroney along with other Police
dignitaries. We will appreciate everyone’s support of this function.
I mentioned in my report last
week that we have had a few Members not apologising when unable to attend a
normal Wednesday meeting. I have spoken to those that this affects and
hopefully we will show improvement in this area.
I would like to make it known
that if this trend does continue those who do not apologise will be sent an
invoice for $25 for the cost of dinner. I truly hope that we do not have to
send out any invoices but our Club can no longer continue to cover the costs
for those members who fail to apologise.
I have had confirmation that
the State Member for Bankstown, Tony Stewart has successfully completed his
trek along the Kokoda Trail, raising money for “Youth Off the Streets”.
Tony and some others who accompanied him on this trek will be speaking at
our Club early in September. We will let you know the date as soon as it is
confirmed.
This presentation should not
be missed and will be an optional Partners night.
LETS CELEBRATE ROTARY,
“MORE NEXT WEEK”
President Keith
