Greetings Fellows
Thank you to everyone who attended our AGM last week.
Congratulations to Rod McDougall who was elected as
President for the 2006/2007 year. This may seem a long way off Rod, but I assure
you that the time leading up to your year will pass quickly.
I find it hard to believe that we are almost half way
through my year as President. It proves the point that the busier you are the
more quickly time seems to disappear. I have enjoyed this six months, I have
learnt a lot and am looking forward to the next six months when we will really
be celebrating Rotary.
My congratulations also to the Board elected for the
Presidential year of George Hallworth. I wish you all well and hope that you
have a successful year.
Thank you as well to the Strathfield Tennis & Recreational
Club who accommodated us at the last moment when we discovered that we needed to
change venues.
Tonight we are once again having a
Children’s Christmas Party, with Santa Claus being one of our special guests.
I hope that everyone has a relaxed and fun evening and enjoys the festivities.
Christine Roever, wife of DG Lloyd Roever will also be
visiting us to talk to us about the “Family of Rotary” and some special plans
for next year.
I hope that those who attended the Social Golf Day last
Thursday, enjoyed the Fellowship. I could not attend due to work commitments but
will certainly catch up on the “news” tonight.
Also Fellows and Partners remember our Members Christmas
Party next week which will be our last meeting for this year. It would be nice
to see as many Members as possible attend to join us for some Christmas cheer. I
look forward to seeing you there
That’s all for now,
