President's Pieces

22nd December 2004

Greetings Fellows

Fellows and Partners welcome to our Club Christmas Party which is our last meeting for this year. I hope that everyone has a relaxed and fun evening and enjoys the festivities. Christine Roever, wife of DG Lloyd Roever will also be visiting us to talk to us about the “Family of Rotary” and some special plans for next year.

Thank you to everyone who attended our AGM the previous week and our Children’s Christmas Party last week (with Santa Claus being one of our special guests).

Congratulations to Rod McDougall who was elected as President for the 2006/2007 year. This may seem a long way off Rod, but I assure you that the time leading up to your year will pass quickly.

I find it hard to believe that we are almost half way through my year as President. It proves the point that the busier you are the more quickly time seems to disappear. I have enjoyed this six months, I have learnt a lot and am looking forward to the next six months when we will really be celebrating Rotary.

My congratulations also to the Board elected for the Presidential year of George Hallworth. I wish you all well and hope that you have a successful year. George’s Board will include Bradley Ayres, Kevin Beltrame, Joe Campisi, Kevin Freund, Paul Giammarco and Rod McDougall. The next secretary will be Angelo Franco and the new Treasurer will be Bob Templeman. The new Sergeant will be Allan Petersen.

The Carols by Candlelight last Saturday went well and thank you to all the Rotarians who operated the BBQ, sold drinks, sold glow sticks and helped out on the night. Special Thanks to Joe Campisi for coordinating with Strathfield Council.

That’s all for now, Let’s celebrate Rotary, and

HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

See you all next year.

That’s all for now,

“MORE NEXT WEEK”

and until then, LET’S CELEBRATE ROTARY – TOGETHER.

President Keith
