Well, the district conference is just a fortnight away! It is not
too late to register, but please do so as soon as possible.
RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awareness) once again proved that it
is an outstanding Rotary youth program. Recent graduates Melissa
Gentle and Daniel Galletta both spoke exceptionally well last week
in addressing the club. A common theme for both was the "life
changing experience" that they felt they had gained.
Congratulations to Bradley Ayres, Euan Watson and others who
support the program. And to top off a mini "youth" night, it was a
pleasure to hear from Elizabeth Livanos the Year 10 "CEO" of the
Strathfield Girls High Australian Business Week project that out
club supported.
Attendance at last week's meeting was excellent – with 47
Rotarians making it to the meeting. With partners and guests there
was a need to set additional tables at the last minute.
I am pleased to report that Peter Harries has agreed to join Keith
Byrn's RYDA team. Keith is seeking one more person to become
involved in this important project.
Peter Harries is keeping member talks flowing and it is good to
here from our new members in particular. Trevor Duxbury's talk
last week, informally titled "Go with the Flow" provided an
entertaining over-view of his journey to membership of our club.
Our wine tasting partners evening on 7 March hosted by
Cellarbrations at Strathfield is taking shape. David Giri and
Brian Johnson promise a great evening, with fine food, wine and
cheese. Cellarbrations will serve a number of premium wines. Feel
free to invite you’re your friends and colleagues.
The barbecue is once again soon be in pristine condition. My
thanks to Warren Abbott and Peter Harries.
This week we pack the district conference satchels. Thanks to the
partners who are joining us to help out and to become part of the
conference spirit.
Enjoy Rotary …
by getting
involved!
