A warm welcome to our club
to Paul White and his partner Angela. It was a pleasure to induct
Paul last week and I wish him an enjoyable and rewarding
association with Rotary.
Letters of thanks continue to arrive from Forbes expressing
appreciation for our Christmas donation to drought affected
families in the area., with Forbes Rotary writing this week to
express their appreciation.
A reminder regarding Peter Manenti's offer to all members for
advertising space in the district conference program booklet. One
spot has gone already. Please let Peter know if you wish to take
space – by next Monday at the latest.
Connie Galletta is in discussion with Dan Murphy's regarding the
possibility of resurrecting weekend carpark fundraising barbecues.
These events are a great way to raise money and to promote Rotary
and our club. Please give Connie your support.
Peter Harries has agreed to continue arranging the successful
fellowship restaurant dinners on a regular basis- with assistance
when needed from Andrew Kowalski. The next evening will be at
Cunios at Hunters Hill. Please contact Peter.
Roger Vince and Brian Driver are seeking assistance for an
Interact dance at Meriden School on Friday 2 March. Please contact
them if you are able to assist with chaperoning duties.
January is Rotary awareness month and I ask all members to make
their contribution to spreading the good word about our
organisation. Please take the time to read the items included in
the bulletin by Editor Bob Templeman.
Reminders that six monthly dues are now due, and to register for
the district conference if you have not already done so.
Tonight we welcome Steve and Denise Taylor for another of the
popular "travelling Rotarian" presentations.
And finally, my thanks to Bert Houston and Tony Lanzafame for
stepping in at short notice to help with sergeant and raffle
duties.
