My fellow Rotarians and friends of Rotary,
Rotarians and their
"intentional" LIVING!
Another Rotary
year is nearing its end as we look to say farewell to 'Serve to Change
Lives' we enter to welcome 'Imagine Rotary'. As we finish our Rotary year, I
think it is important to look back and reflect on our achievements as we
make plans for the coming year. What a year we have had. One that we will
not forget in a hurry.
This year, out of 25 RI Presidents' Goals, we
have achieved 21 of them. We have met all eight criteria specified by our
Rotary District 9675, and we are happy that we had a remarkable year despite
the COVID pandemic, lockdowns and economic meltdown. Challenges didn’t stop
us; instead, they gave us opportunities to serve. We used every problem in
the community as an opportunity and every opportunity challenged us to serve
to change lives. Our dynamic leadership team and the progressive mindset of
the members never took "no" for an answer.
Living intentionally means purposefully pursuing
a life to serve others. Being intentional takes focused action and living
for the betterment of our fellow human beings. We Rotarians always live with
a purpose. By identifying our purpose, we allow that to shape our approach
to life. This changes our attitude and makes our decisions based on the
needs of the hour in our community.
What inspires me is the generous spirit of our
Rotarians. Whatever the project, be it a foodbank for the homeless, a
publicity initiative in the local vicinity, rehabilitating the war victims
in Sri Lanka, educating school kids in Colombia, supporting the Indian COVID
emergency relief appeal or the 'Mind Your Health' program, our Rotarians
contribute generously and act intentionally. That inspires me to lead better
and do more.
Our compassion and our ability to open our
hearts to those in need, combined with our commitment to share our time,
talent, touch, and treasures with those who are less fortunate, is what
causes ordinary Rotarians such as ourselves to do the extraordinary things
that we do. It's what makes Rotary so magical and Rotarians embrace
intentional LIVING!
"When
you live each day with intentionality, there's almost no limit to what you
can do. You can transform yourself, your family, your community, and your
nation. When enough people do that, they can change the world. When you
intentionally use your everyday life to bring about positive change in the
lives of others, you begin to live a life that matters."
